A Welcome Message From Our Head of School, Ian Jarvie

“I had the privilege of “growing up” with BC Christian Academy for all but one of the 30 years and have had the privilege of witnessing God shaping and molding the school for His purposes.   God orchestrated the details for our school to purchase the 1019 Fernwood Ave, Port Coquitlam 9.6-acre site in 2020, after leasing the facility for 10 years, our 5th stop in our 30-year history.  We believe that God is calling us to take the next, very large, step of faith to carry out the Kingdom Work that God has called us to, which will serve many generations to come and allow us to have more seats available to educate many wonderful children from a Biblical worldview.  What a blessing and joy to be able to do this!”

High Academic standards as evidenced by close to 100% Graduation Rate
90% of graduates go to Post-Secondary and are welcomed at renowned Canadian universities and top universities around the world

Theme Verse

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:1-2

Our 3 C’s

What a blessing it is to be part of the body of Christ! At BC Christian Academy our motto comes from our 3 “C”s: Christ, Community, and Compassion. These are the key values that make BCCA unique and what guide us in keeping our mission alive and in pursuing our vision for the future.

Our dedication to strong academic excellence, uncompromising Christian and moral values, and a caring community built on compassion help and support our students to fulfill their potential and positively impact the world for Jesus.

Christ

1 Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

Myth

Some believe there is no place for Christ in education.

Truth

Christ is the foundation of our education, seamlessly integrated into our well-rounded curriculum.

Needs

Mentorship programs, funding to access current Christian resources and programs that support biblical integration into the curriculum and building of Christ-like character among our students.

Community

Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Myth

Some believe Christian schools are exclusive and selective.

Truth

BCCA fosters a diverse, caring and close-knit community of students and families from various regions and backgrounds.

Needs

Initiatives to further promote community through outreach, service projects, local partnerships, and support services.

Compassion

Matthew 25:40: “Whatever you have done for the least of these brothers of mine you have done for me.”

Myth

Some believe that Christian education is unaffordable.

Truth

BCCA has an existing tuition support program to assist and enable families that otherwise could not afford the tuition cost of sending their children to an independent school.

Needs

Donors to help support the school’s financial aid programs, various learning resources, and vision for the BCCA future learning campus.

Accreditation

The Federation of Independent School Associations in British Columbia (FISA BC) is an umbrella organization of independent school associations formed in British Columbia. FISA BC was founded in 1966 when a diverse group of independent schools indicated that, “providing each of our schools could maintain its independence, there could be definite value in the formation of an affiliation among our schools which could promote common purposes” (Cunningham, 2002, p. 61).

The Association of Christian Schools International in British Columbia (ACSIBC) represents approximately 30 evangelical Christian schools with a commitment to instilling knowledge, wisdom, and a biblical worldview in students trained to love God and contribute to the public good.
