The British Columbia Christian Academy (BCCA) Board, Leadership and Staff (with God’s help),  pledge to work towards developing a BCCA graduate who will fulfill the school’s mission and vision.

The following is a learning profile capturing the main lessons learnt by a  BCCA graduate.

1. Academic Excellence as Worship

BCCA emphasizes that learning and knowledge are forms of worship, encouraging students to strive for excellence to honour God.

  • Proverbs 4:7: “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it costs all you have, get understanding.”
  • Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

Skills Developed: Critical thinking, curiosity, diligence, and lifelong learning.

2. Christ-Centered Identity and Purpose

Students are taught that their identity is rooted in Christ, with a purpose beyond personal achievement, aimed at glorifying God and impacting others.

  • Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
  • 1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Skills Developed: Self-awareness, confidence, humility, and vision for life.

3. Biblical Foundation and Worldview

Graduates will have a firm understanding of a biblical worldview, seeing life through the lens of God’s Word and seeking to align their lives with biblical principles.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
  • Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

Skills Developed: Discernment, analytical thinking, moral reasoning, and ethical decision-making.

4. Integrity and Godly Character

Character formation is central, with an emphasis on virtues like honesty, integrity, respect, and responsibility.

  • Proverbs 11:3: “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”
  • Titus 2:7: “In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness.”

Skills Developed: Trustworthiness, responsibility, resilience, and ethical leadership.

5. Servant Leadership and Service to Others

A BCCA  education teaches that greatness comes through serving others, and students are encouraged to live a life of service and compassion.

  • Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
  • Galatians 5:13: “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”

Skills Developed: Empathy, community building, humility, and civic responsibility.

6. Spiritual Growth and Relationship with God

A BCCA graduate will have developed a deep personal relationship with God, grounded in prayer, worship, and faith, knowing that their ultimate purpose is found in Him.

  • Matthew 6:33: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
  • John 15:5: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

Skills Developed: Faith, prayer, discernment, and spiritual discipline.

7. Love and Respect for All People

A BCCA education will emphasize love and respect for all, teaching that every person is made in God’s image, and calling students to reflect Christ’s love to those around them.

  • Matthew 22:37-39: “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
  • 1 John 4:7-8: “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.”

Skills Developed: Compassion, teamwork, cross-cultural understanding, and peacemaking.

8. Creative and Critical Thinker

A BCCA student is equipped to analyze, evaluate, and innovate solutions, using their God-given talents to think outside the box and approach problems thoughtfully. Creativity is seen as an expression of God’s creativity in them.

  • Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

9. Independent Worker

Graduates possess self-discipline, diligence, and the motivation to take responsibility for their own learning and growth, confidently managing tasks and challenges with integrity.

  • Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”  

10.  Fine Arts Appreciation

The curriculum encourages an appreciation for fine arts, recognizing that creativity is a gift from God and a way to reflect His glory through visual and performing arts.

  • “Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.” – Psalm 33:3
  • “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” – Psalm 19:1

11. Physical Fitness and Stewardship

  • Goal: They recognize the importance of physical health as part of honoring God with their bodies and maintaining discipline.
  • Key Verse: “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?” – 1 Corinthians 6:19

12. Collaborative Learner

Graduates understand the value of unity and teamwork, showing humility, patience, and respect for others as they work together, just as the body of Christ works in harmony.

  • Ephesians 4:3: “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

13. Quality Producer

A BCCA graduate will strive for excellence in everything they do, recognizing that God calls them to do their best in all areas. They take pride in their work, as a reflection of their dedication to God.

  • 2 Chronicles 15:7: “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”

14. Lifelong Learner

A BCCA graduate will be motivated to grow spiritually, intellectually, and socially throughout their lives, recognizing that learning is a continuous journey that deepens their relationship with God and understanding of His creation.

  • Proverbs 1:5 “Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.” 

15. Resilience and Perseverance in Faith

Students learn that life will have challenges but are taught to rely on God, who strengthens and upholds them through every season.

  • James 1:2-4: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
  • Philippians 4:13: “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Skills Developed: Perseverance, resilience, adaptability, and courage.

Our BCCA graduate will reflect a student equipped not only academically but also spiritually, emotionally, morally, and physically, prepared to pursue their calling with a Christ-centred approach to life and learning.
